There will be distinct roles for the YMCA or YWCA Canada and for the host organizations. In addition to recruiting host organizations and internship candidates, the YMCA or YWCA Canada will act as the official employer of all interns, providing payroll service as well as support to interns and host organizations in both official languages. Day-to-day responsibility for the interns and the achievement of employment skills targets will rest with the host organization and specifically, the intern's supervisor.
